nowaGEA

nowaGEA steht für die seit Oktober 2010 aktive Vernetzung der Wissenschaftlerinnen an der Fakultät für Geowissenschaften, Geographie und Astronomie der Universität Wien.

nowaGEA sieht sich als Plattform von und für Frauen im Wissenschaftsbetrieb, die für einen offenen Informationsaustausch und wechselseitige Unterstützung genutzt werden kann.

nowaGEA initiiert Projekte, die Frauen eine wissenschaftliche Karriere an der Fakultät ermöglichen bzw. erleichtern.

nowaGEA möchte die spezifischen Probleme der Gleichstellung von Frauen primär im Zuge kommunikativer Prozesse vor Ort an der Fakultät lösen.

nowaGEA bietet Ansprechpersonen für Jungwissenschafterinnen auf allen Subeinheiten/ Departments der Fakultät.

nowaGEA hat bereits folgende Projekte umgesetzt

• Tutorials zur internen Weiterbildung

nowaGEA ist offen für aktives Engagement von Frauen aller Alters- und Karrierestufen, die sich als Wissenschafterinnen der Fakultät zugehörig fühlen. Ein Dienstverhältnis zur Universität Wien ist keine Voraussetzung für die Aufnahme ins Netzwerk

nowaGEA is a network of female scientists at the Faculty of Geosciences, Geography and Astronomy at the University of Vienna. It was created in October 2010.

nowaGEA is a platform for women in science promoting the exchange of information and mutual support.

nowaGEA initiates projects to support women to develop their academic careers at the Faculty.

nowaGEA aims at solving problems of gender inequality and gender-related  discrimination through communication within the Faculty.

nowaGEA provides contact persons for young female scientists in all sub-units / Departments of the Faculty.

nowaGEA has already implemented the following projects

• Tutorials for internal professional training

nowaGEA encourages all female scientists based at the Faculty of Geosciences, Geography and Astronomy to participate. There are no age or positional restrictions. Having an official employment status at the Faculty is not a prerequisite for inclusion in the network.
